Many people today are doing without healthcare. But now it's really not an option with the tax penalty in the such.

Ricardo Leiva, 56, of Lyndhurst has gone for years without health insurance — and, luckily, no serious medical problems. But on Sunday, Leiva, a dental technician, applied for health coverage under the federal Affordable Care Act, just a week before the Feb. 15 deadline for open enrollment for 2015.
His coverage turned out to be truly affordable — only $30 a month, thanks to federal subsidies based on his income level.
“The price is so cheap, I cannot refuse,” Leiva said. “My health has been pretty good, but I feel relieved that I have insurance. … You’re healthy today, but tomorrow, you never know what’s going on.”
Leiva was one of half a dozen New Jerseyans who attended an enrollment event Sunday at the Lodi Boys and Girls Club, sponsored by a group called Enroll America and Assemblymen Tim Eustace, D-Maywood, and Joseph Lagana, D-Paramus. According to federal Health and Human Services, the pace of enrollments in New Jersey is running well ahead of last year’s rate. About 216,000 people in New Jersey and 7.5 million people nationwide have signed up since Nov. 15, when open enrollment began, through Feb. 4, the most recent figures available.

My fiance got health insurance through the exchange last year. He re-enrolled in the same plan for this year. The price went up from $218 to $309, but he shopped around and that seemed to be a decent price for the coverage/benefits.
So here's the problem. He'd been enrolled in auto-pay and they always took the money on the 5th. In January, I noticed they hadn't taken the money out, so I told him that maybe he needed to re-enroll in auto pay.

So now it's February and we had $618 in the checking account waiting for the charge. They still hadn't charged as of Friday, so he gave them another call. His account is still "classified." He explained what the previous lady had said, but this time, the lady said she had no clue what he was talking about and had no idea why the checking account hadn't been charged. The call was disconnected (I think a dropped call, I don't think she hung up on him) and then he had to go back to work, but he's going to call again on Monday.

$618 is quite a bit of money. Personally I'm not really sure how Obama care is going to work out. What are some of your thoughts on this new healthcare law. We also alternatives you can also get your own health care quote. I think the new Congress is going to have to tweak the Obama care law.
