Ricardo Leiva, 56, of Lyndhurst has gone for years without health insurance — and, luckily, no serious medical problems. Leiva was one of half a dozen New Jerseyans who attended an enrollment event Sunday at the Lodi Boys and Girls Club, sponsored by a group called Enroll America and Assemblymen Tim Eustace, D-Maywood, and Joseph Lagana, D-Paramus. According to federal Health and Human Services, the pace of enrollments in New Jersey is running well ahead of last year’s rate. About 216,000 people in New Jersey and 7.5 million people nationwide have signed up since Nov. 15, when open enrollment began, through Feb. 4, the most recent figures available.

My fiance got health insurance through the exchange last year. He re-enrolled in the same plan for this year. The price went up from $218 to $309, but he shopped around and that seemed to be a decent price for the coverage/benefits.
So here's the problem. He'd been enrolled in auto-pay and they always took the money on the 5th. In January, I noticed they hadn't taken the money out, so I told him that maybe he needed to re-enroll in auto pay.
