Open Question: Lump on Lymph Node, HIV?
So i had an MRI and the Doc said there is a lump on/in my lymph node. I have been concerned I have HIV. I have not had a "fever period" but I was also going threw withdraws for 4 days after I think I could have been infected so I may have not noticed. But I was all normal after taking Suboxone. It has been 6 months. In the last month I have hit a temp of 101F twice for just a few hours. Other than that I have no signs I am aware of, of having HIV. So to be clear symptoms I have had are high fever for a few hours at a time but only twice in the last month. When the fever is high my body aches. I have a lump on a lymph node in neck. I am convinced I have it and really have not had any serious symptoms. My energy level is the same as always, I am losing weight but I am trying to and its not at a dramatic rate, no weird sweats, my labs said no infections, I do at times wake up with a slightly sore throat but it goes away a couple of hours after waking up. I have slight psoriasis which has been slightly worse lately, I have no soreness though my knees hurt often, I have daily severe headaches, which is what led to the MRI. The reason i have not been tested but have been to the doctor is because I don't want it in my medical records if I do come up positive. I want to be on my own health insurance and not on my parents which I will not have much longer. I imagine its hard to get coverage with HIV. There are anonymous free clinics here but my family would know what I am going to do, as I don't have my own transportation, and I do not want that until I know I have it. Like I said I did have the normal labs panel done during MRI and nothing came back off but I don't know if any of that would show a red flag for HIV. If you are positive could you tell your experience in discovering you had it and what signs if any at all led you to get tested? Please?! Thanks in advance for all your help.

PS: I think I know what I am going to here but I am crazy psycho about it and I am gay and my mother, RN, would never let me live it down if I am positive even though it had nothing to do with sex but with drugs.
