Open Question: In Your Country, do you have to have health Insurance? How does that work? which country?
I know this sounds like a daft question but I'm from the UK and want to know how things work in other countries.
So over here if we get ill and make an appointment for the GP, we only pay for medication ... and if we go to A&E we don't pay for that... and if we need an operation which ISN'T cosmetic that is free too... free optician test every 2 years (but have to pay for the specs)...
BUT if your a single Parent who isn't working and have a child under 5 then you get benefits which means dentist, opticians and medication is free too... and also if that person is renting then she/he doesn't have to pay it a long with council tax...
then again the VAT is sky high, council tax, national insurance and the energy bills hit the roof. and the crap they take out from our pay cheque is ludicrous.
I've always been intrigued on how things work in the Australia, USA & Canada.
