Open Question: Is this the real doomsday scenario?

FACT 1: A computer can now beat all human beings on the game show "Jeopardy," playing by the same rules as the humans, listening to Alex Trebek's questions via voice recognition software, and even using a mechanical thumb to buzz in on questions. The computer is self contained, and is not connected to the Internet during the game.

FACT 2: All keyboards and key pads on all computers and other machines will soon disappear. Everything will be voice controlled very soon. A very basic level of this can be seen with the "Siri" capability on some smart phones. But soon all keyboards everywhere will vanish.

FACT 3: The Google corporation is close to creating a driverless computer-controlled truck that uses electronic maps and GAP. It will have fewer accidents that human-controlled trucks, and cost much less (no salary to pay, no health insurance, no retirement package).

FACT 4: Companies will soon have computers with voice recognition that can teach foreign languages better than most human teachers, at 1/1000th of the cost.

FACT 5: Experts are predicting the disappearance of all physical bookstores and all physical public libraries within 5 years.

FACT 6: AT&T already has a device to wear on your ear that gives simultaneous translation from one language to another. Soon NO ONE will ever need to learn a foreign language.

FACT 7: Some experts are predicting the demise, within 5 years, of the college/university campus due to the introduction (coming soon) of much less expensive online higher education.

FACT 8: Voice recognition telephone systems are causing massive layoffs in call centers (even in India!). Most products and services can now be ordered, and most costumer service can be provided, without any need for a human worker.

FACT 9: Giant retailers like Wal-Mart and 7-11 already have test stores with NO human employees in the store! Those self-check out lanes are just the beginning.

FACT 10: Scientists are saying that within 5 years, they will produce and sell reliable "Computer Physicians" into which nurses feed data about patients. The Computer Doctor will make far fewer mistakes than human doctors, and won't require 8 years of expensive education, and won't require an annual salary of $150,000 (as do many physicians).

FACT 11: Many economists and saying that the current, recent and soon-to-come advances in computer and digital technology are making an exception to the old rule that new technology creates as many jobs as it destroys. The difference now is that machines now can do more and more of the cognitive functions that, until recently, were the domain of humans, & also because the computer can link together and work together in a way that human minds cannot. In other words, THE LUDDITES WERE WRONG--until now.

FACT 12: The military leaders of the U.S. government already have pilot-drones that can fly air strikes and kill the enemy. They have in development ground based robots and intelligent tanks and rovers that will make it completely unnecessary for human soldiers to fight the enemy.

FACT 13: Capitalist economies have always worked because the Capitalist Class (the owners) absolutely NEEDED a majority of the Laboring Class (the workers, including the professional class workers) as both workers and consumers. This same "alliance" between the Few and the Many was also seen in earlier economic forms, such as Feudalism (the Middle Ages) and Slavery (ancient Rome, Greece, Egypt) . The Capitalist Class has also always needed the masses of the humans in the Laboring Class for military service (for both aggression and defense against aggression). But machines will soon replace human soldier and pilots (see #12).

Soon that Artificial Intelligence (AI) Machines will be able to do EVERYTHING (with a tiny few exceptions) that the humans in the Laboring Class can do (including the professional class workers), and the AI Machines will be able to do all this work with better quality, & at a fraction of the cost. Suddenly the Capitalist Class will have NO NEED for the vast majority of humans in the Laboring Class.

RESULTS:

Experts are saying that in 5 years, because of all this, there is going to massive global unemployment, and that this unemployment is NOT going to go away!

How will all those unemployed people eat, or pay for anything?

Some are predicting mass riots, wars, and massive killing of the mobs trying to get food.

For this global catastrophe to occur, the is NO NEED for computers to gain consciousness and to plot or conspire against humans.

All that is necessary is that the Ruling Class (the top 10 percent or so of the humans who own and control nearly everything) will find that they no longer need the masses for anything, they can't make a profit with them, they don't them in their military forces (for either defense or aggression), and also can't affo
Here's what go cut off: "...also can't afford to feed the masses."

I wish to add this: The top 10% (the wealthiest and most powerful humans) will soon be deathly AFRAID of the great masses of people with no jobs, no income.

What will the 10% do to protect themselves?

What will the 90% do to try to survive?

P.S. Sorry for the length of this question. But the reality of this threat can't seen until you see a collection of facts together. There are actually SO many more facts that could be listed!
