New Freestanding Emergency Departments May out Perform Traditional Hospital ER’s



Freestanding emergency departments are changing the face of U.S. Emergency care. Unlike a traditional hospital ER, a freestanding emergency department (FSED) is not found on a hospital campus. It is a stand-alone facility designed to treat the needs of a local community. They are most often found in office complexes and neighborhood strip malls.
