Open Question: Having trouble conceiving when should I seek medical advice?
For years now I've known I wanted children(since I was 15 seriously wanting children) but I knew getting pregnant in my teens still in school was not smart so I got on birthcontrol... the pill for a little while then the patch for years. I watched countless other people my age getting pregnant unplanned in their teens in high school none of which needed to have a child then but OOPS then baby. It hurt knowing I wanted one so bad but was doing the smart thing and waiting for the appropriate time. Now I'm 22 and married and have been trying for the past 8 months to conceive since I got off of the patch. NOTHING! My husband is 31 and has a 7 yr old from a previous marriage. We want more kids. I want to be pregnant and am finally at a point in my life it is a smart choice. A teen mother I know told me at 15 she wanted to have a baby so she did, when am I gonna get pregnant? That is such a slap in the face! I have a lot of emotional feelings attached to my inability to get pregnant so far. I know people say the more you stress about it the harder it is but at this point I do worry about it alot. I'm not gonna be able to not worry about. The past two months my husband and I have have gone from casually trying to me doing tons of online research about anything that could be helpful to having sex every day to every other day once a day for two and a half weeks straight because my cycles are some what unpredictable and I'm never sure what day I will ovulate. But Still nothing so far. I'm very discouraged and am wondering If I even can get pregnant! When should I go to the doctor and maybe have some fertility test run? Its still a couple of months until the health insurance from my husbands new job will kick in. I don't want to prematurely go to the doctor but I'm really starting to worry. And if I should go to the doctor what kinda of things should he look for or what kind of test should the run? I don't know what could be keeping me from getting pregnant. Please some one help!
