Open Question: How did you opt out of Medicare when the rest of us have to take "Part-A" even if we don't want or need it?



I have health insurance that equals or exceeds that of Medicare Part-A. I tried to decline "Part-A" when I applied for Social Security benefits thinking I'd be helping saving the Medicare fund. It turned out I couldn't. It's as though the rules regarding Medicare are themselves partly responsible for it's downfall.
