Open Question: Property Management: Should It Be Against The Law To Charge Rent If Someone Work For You?

Currently, I am an assistant property manager looking become his own manager. It has to be the right job. As assistant manager I receive free rent, health insurance, both gas and electric bills paid for.

As I said, I want my own managers job. However, it has been tough to find the right job. I see several ads posting looking to hire. Those looking to hire want the manager to run their building(s). Show vacant apartments, keep parking lot clean at all times, deal with tenant issues, process and collect rent checks and more. The pay: half price off rent! Are you kidding me? There should be a law against this. You run their building and you still have to pay rent? A law needs to be passed to stop management companies from doing this. You work for them and they refuse to pay you or give free rent at least?

Is this fraud? Should management companies be arrested and charged with fraud? You pay them to work for them to manage their building(s)? I am working with a friend to get a law passed to prevent management companies from getting away with fraud!

Again, why should you have to pay them for managing your building(s) as on site manager?
