Ivan the Terrible (bad*ss), Peter the Great, Alexander I (military genius), and Stalin (saved Europe from the Nazis).
They have a strong sense of national identity, pride, diverse history, unity, and are a land of ideas.
I live in the U.S. It is a land of fools and retards, and rich people doing a very good job convincing people they're free. The "freest" county statement is B.S. The U.S. is the only modern industrialized nation to not have universal healthcare, as a result the prices are so high poor people often die while rich housewives get unnecessary, cosmetic procedures from the vast amount of money they married into, oh but sometimes they inherit (exiting the birth canal, what a hard job totally worthy of millions of dollars *eyeroll*). Our countries faced a health care crises at about the same time, due to excessive privatization. What happened? Putin spent a lot more on public health care and raised the average living and infant mortality rate. Obama forced every citizen to buy PRIVATE insurance, which will do nothing except make the poor poorer. Putin is obviously not a great guy, but he's better than Obama.
